  1. nom and Symbol for vote.svg For. Weird enough that you might think it's a Wikipedia article that you read while OD'd on your meds. Lots of quotation marks but note that every one has another quote mark growing out of it and so on. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 07:22, September 6, 2018 (UTC)

  5. Symbol for vote.svg For. Weird enough article, that you might think it came from Wikipedia:Unusual articles]. And it is something that obviously won't fit in Encyclopedia Britannica. --Atomicdragon136 (talk) 23:26, October 15, 2018 (UTC)

  1. I like some of this, but not the preying on women and images of them in skimpy clothing. It's a little like reading Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal. Good strip in some ways, but disturbing. I can't. Sorry. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 06:10 23 September 2018
  2. I know it's legal to libel the dead, but I still really don't like it. And he hasn't been dead that long, some of his friends and relatives are still alive and could see this. And fractals are very important to us Discordian American Princesses. Really I'd like to see this article totally rewritten or taken off Unc. Admin DAP Dame Pleb Com. 3. Ditto (except this may possibly be illegal under a grey area in civil law). Father Alden Loveshade, humble rector of the University of Our Lady of Uncyclopedia, Whynersville Serjeant-at-Law A.L.??? (legal consultations)  01:51, October 26, 2018 (UTC)
Comments:
  • I confess my Mommy asked me to look at this a while back and I forgot. I'm not an attorney-at-law, but I have helped more than one person file a cease-and-desist order in a potential libel case (and handled a few criminal cases just because I was too foolish or cheap to hire a real lawyer, but hey, I won all five). U.S. law is actually unclear on whether a civil suit can be filed for libeling someone who's recently dead. And as Benoit Mandelbrot is in the grey area between private citizen and public figure, it may or may not be necessary to prove actual malice against the authors/Wikia.
Chances are nobody here will be successfully sued. But I do strongly suspect this violates Wikia policy at the very least. And frankly, outside of the law, I think most of us wouldn't be very happy if someone libeled a recently deceased friend or member of the family. I would suggest this be put up for deletion, then greatly rewritten. If (and when) staff sees this, it's likely going to be dropped quickly, but Miley's worked with staff a whole lot more than I have. • After what Alden said, I talked to staff. This article could get us, not Wikia, us, sued! So I deleted it. See here. Admin DAP Dame Pleb Com. Miley Spears (talk) 17:35, October 28, 2018 (UTC)
  • Staff, meaning the FANDOM legal department, or just who in the hierarchy? The legal dept. would be the only one who counts. I want to have it on the record on who said what here. There's more on Uncyclopedia that's even more actionable. And in the USA, anybody can bring suit for anything at any time, as Alden can probably confirm. To avoid the possibility ("could get us") of a lawsuit of any kind, shouldn't the site be shut down until a complete review is done? I will cease all work at Uncyclopedia until this is done with the exception of reviewing everything I have written in articles so far for anything that might be actionable. --Nigel Scribbler sig2.png (talk) 19:28, October 28, 2018 (UTC)
