Basil

Basil could mean a number of things:
- Basil I (pictured), a master of horse-wrestling and patrimonial ambiguity who ruled the Byzantine Empire from 867 to 886.
- Basil Brush, a popular British celebrity and a lover of tweed and of the less-fortunate.
- Basil Fawlty, the owner and manager of the Fawlty Towers — you know, the ones the Muslims bombed, that time.
- Basil Hallward, a character who figures into the plot of The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Basil is also a spice in cooking, popular among chefs before they figure out that oregano gets it done in smaller doses. As you can see by the red, if you were to write an Uncyclopedia article on that, this page would link right to it and someone might read it.
- This is a disambiguation page — words should always mean more than one thing, and we're working hard to ensure that each word you look up refers to at least two completely unrelated articles. If an article link referred you here, you should make it to point directly to the article where you think the confused link-maker thought it would point, or go nuts and pick one at random. Just make sure it doesn't point here.
