Forum:THE IMAGES ARE FIXED!
This glorious event must be celebrated! LET'S PARTEY!
13:49, 17 December 2010- Premature, the images on my computer machine are still leftward and captions wandering. Maybe new pics work and old ones stay broken. Your code works though, and should maybe be applied to features as long as the crisis lasts. Great code to fix the problem, brought to us by Socky. Aleister 13:56 17 12
- p.s. Some pages are fixed, others still broken. Maybe there was a partial fix.
- You need to edit the pages. This forces the page to reload, thus sending all those broken images back where they came from.
- Whaaaaaaat? Are you saying we have to edit all 26,000 pages? Dibs on the Q's. Aleister 14:18 17 12

When you request a page, Wikia tries to satisfy the request from a slave server. When you make even a superficial change to a page, it goes to the master, and a copy of the "corrected" page--minus thumbnail bug--is replicated to the slave, which will satisfy future requests. Did I get that right? Spıke Ѧ 14:43 17-Dec-10
PS--Another educated guess: The master, during its quiet moments, will eventually rebuild all the pages and propagate them to the server, so there's no need to edit anything and add one space or one carriage return, unless you need it to happen faster. The "slave server" is the Wikia version of the "Pakistani customer-service Hot Line." Spıke Ѧ 16:01 17-Dec-10
- That seems to have happened. Either that or Aleister went on a one-character adding spree. --Black Flamingo 16:25, December 17, 2010 (UTC)
He did hit a few pages before I told him of my theory. Spıke Ѧ 17:28 17-Dec-10
