Red Deer is a city halfway between the cities of Edmonton and Calgary. It has 100 thousand people of 2016.

History[edit]

Red Deer was founded by a red deer, hence its name. In 1901 Red Deer became a town. Many red deer were settled there, with a population of 12,300 deers and 2,800 humans. There were so many deer that a river was named after Red Deer. During the Great Depression many humans died. There were many grass so red deer thrived. In the 80s Wayne Gretzky found there were too many red deer and Edmonton destroyed red deer. Soon, all Canada killed red deer. Today there are few red deer surviving in the outskirts of Red Deer. If anyone spots a red deer, they will call Animal Control.

Red Deer is famous for Gasoline Alley, where people throw gasoline at tourists. But not much fun is in Red Deer.
