"All Star," is a single released by the band Smash Mouth. Released on May 4, 1999, it became popular among internet dwellers after Shrek started singing it every time he bashes out of the bathroom in 2001 according to a tape released as a so-called movie by the CIA (Central Idiots Agency) a subsidiary of the company DreamWorks, who claimed it as their own.

The song was well received by the tasteless critics who spent their lives listening to trashy pop music, and decided to bias it and praise it more after the Shrek tape was released to shear money and popularity off it. Luckily, these critics were absolutely destroyed by the music video's popularity and memers, who wanted to take money and popularity as well themselves. It got on Billboard Top 40 and 100 thanks to tasteless critics, but unfortunately was destroyed by pretty much a world superpower of memes: "Baby," by the wOrld ReNOwnEd Justin Bieber (who has a clean crime history)

Background and Recording[edit]

It was the last recorded song for their album Bastard Lounge, Smash Mouths second album. It was recorded in Redwood City, California, along with another trash song nobody cares about.

After recording it with a kazoo and shoestrings, it was sent to Interscope where they declined it because they said it was garbage. So they decided to make even worse songs, pretty much filler content, and then presented it to Interscope again which said it was perfect just because they thought the album's cover looked like better fap material.

Composition[edit]

As said before, it was made with a kazoo and shoestrings, but then spent a few weeks straight editing it and turning it into what people who didn't actually know that it was made with the worst instruments possible. The original recordings would've destroyed your eardrums because of the pure, fresh ear cancer.

Critical reception and accolades[edit]

Many praised it for being a good song despite the horrid history behind it, but it's pretty predictable for mainstream media. Although apparently "a good song," it was later put in the Guinness World Records as the "Worst Song of 1999" and was even put in the Hall of Shame. Many buyers also destroyed it, and had permanent hearing loss.

Release and commercial performance[edit]

It was released May 4, 1999, as the first single of Bastard Lounge. It topped all the Billboard Top charts and was still popular on music streaming services in 2017-2018 thanks to memers, even though the meme was already destroyed.

Music video[edit]

It was directed by McG, however he was trash and made it look like the Cloverfield movie on magic drugs. He was so bad in fact, that they took nearly 10 years to direct the movie properly and upload the video. Even through their creative differences it still sucked anyway.

Live performances[edit]

Smash Mouth first performed the song at the 1999 Home Run Derby at Fenway Park. After playing the song, Camp said "I hate b***k people," and instantly got destroyed by the crowd.

Then, in 2015, they performed it at Fort Collins, but then Steve Harwell got triggered after some memer began to throw toast onto the stage. He then began threatening to beat the persons ass, but the memer was a smart-ass and wasn't caught. Then he got triggered and was eventually taken away by security. Rekt.

As a result of that he began having heart attacks and passed out in 2016, fell, and his face was destroyed. But the band didn't really give a ship about it and kept on playing without him.

Cultural impact[edit]

Film and popular culture[edit]

Who cares? It's all about the memes. Anyway, it starred in a terrible movie called Mystery Men, and it starred in sporting events in which everyone just watched it on TV and the volume was too low to hear the song anyway.

And yeah, it was sung by Shrek in the lost tape.

MEMES[edit]

It has been parodied by memers and other worms of the Internet, thanks to the Shrek fandom. These memes, then and now unfunny, mostly just involved Shrek earrape and other nonsense. The first memes were just plain and boring parodies like "Mario, You're a Plumber" with the worst voice acting ever. Many for some reason, remixed it with the also-dead "Somebody Toucha My Spaghet" meme, purely unfunny as well, and some meme-cuck even made a music video on it. Also, there is a "And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming And they don't stop coming" remix on YouTube.
