ESC+REFRESH+POWER CTRL+D ENTER (esc++Power, then ctrl+D, then enter) is one of the most evil way to ruin someone's Chromebook. This factory resets the hard drive, deleting all useful files in the Downloads folder and removing all app data. No one except Chrome OS developers understand why it is so easy to factory reset the hard drive. In fact, you don't need the password to do so (This is such a security issue). First, pressing esc++Power will cause the White Screen of Death (Very similar to Blue Screen of Death in Windows) to appear. Then ctrl+D will wipe the hard drive (It prompts you to make sure that you really want to, pressing enter).

Instructions[edit]

  1. Press esc++Power. It will say that Chrome OS is screwed up, but who cares? And it actually isn't screwed up like how it says it is, so you can go back if you want to.
  2. Wait at least 10 seconds. Then press ctrl+D.
  3. Press enter. This will confirm that you really want to wipe all data.
    • Note that you may have to press enter again to confirm again.
  4. Feel ashamed. You now screwed up someone's Chromebook.
