I don't know how to create a new article, could you help me?

To create a new page, simply search for it using the search bar, then click the red link near the top of the page. --Starnestommy (TalkContribsFFSWP) 23:19, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Guys, wouldn't it make sense to add a "Create article" link in the navigation box that leads to a page that has a field where you can enter in the desired title of your article (à la UnNews) in order to make it easier to do as well as avoid having so many noobs ask us how to do it? -- Tinymooose.gif » Sir Savethemooses Grand Commanding Officer ... holla atcha boy» 23:40, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Here's the code for a create button that just makes an article with the title specified in the input box:

<inputbox>
type=create
buttonlabel=Create!
</inputbox>

There's also a MediaWiki extension for 1.9 and a built-in feature in 1.10 called Special:Createarticle and Template:CreateNewArticle --Starnestommy (TalkContribsFFSWP) 23:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)

Okay, I added a tab to my nav box that links to Create an article, which sucks right now so anybody who wants to make it better should do so. I think that "Create article" should be in the default settings for everybody. I go there often actually, as I know there are magic little helpful pages out there but I always forget their names /blush ~ Dame Ceridwyn ~ talk DUN VoNSE arc2.0 10:31, 23 May 2007

I moved the page and added a link to the navigation sidebar. HOMESTAR ME!!! TURTLE ME!!! t o m p k i n s  blah. ﺞوﻦ וףה ՃՄ ண்ஸ ފއހ วอฏม +տ trade websites 23:20, 23 May 2007 (UTC)

To be honest, I don't like that link there. Plus it's not very useful as the vast majority of people can work it out easily, and so isn't useful to very many people. As I said before too, if they can't even be bothered working how how to create an article, are they going to bother learning how to make a good one, or do we have to do that for them too?
I think it was best just having a link on the community portal. Spang talk 01:20, 24 May 2007
That's fine with me, but whatever you do, don't put it in the community sidebar, because that looks even worse... and it has very little to do with the Uncyclopedia "community" HOMESTAR ME!!! TURTLE ME!!! t o m p k i n s  blah. ﺞوﻦ וףה ՃՄ ண்ஸ ފއހ วอฏม +տ trade websites 02:31, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Ok, Zombiebaron moved it to the community sidebar, but I've taken it out altogether. It's probably best being just on the community portal page. Perhaps it could be on the help pages too. And expanded to include info about the different namespaces, and then it might be useful for more people. Spang talk 03:46, 24 May 2007

I dunno, there are plenty of people who can figure out how to make pages on their own who consistently make crap, too. I think it would just be more convenient to have right there. It's currently in my personal .js, anyway. -- Tinymooose.gif » Sir Savethemooses Grand Commanding Officer ... holla atcha boy» 05:59, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
