DidYouKnow can be accessed at Template:DidYouKnow.

A quick check of a few articles using HTML math tags shows those working normally. Offhand, I don't see any format problems with the DidYouKnow entries using math tags – has something changed? --Nigel Scribbler (talk) 01:50, 15 June 2021 (UTC)

Not an answer, but information that I can't reproduce the error:
  • I tested the template in the preview window with both math tags set to option weights of 1000, with either PNG or MathML set in preferences. Rendered fine for me.
  • Separately, I reloaded the main page until a math tag appeared, and got:
So maybe it's not something on the server end, but the user (browser/script/OS) end? Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 03:32, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
It's definitely on the server end. After some poking around it turns out to be T274316, not (yet?) fixed in the versions we're using. The math tags in DYK are broken due to the featured picture section below on the main page, which uses DPL. I did find that the problem only shows up in MathML mode and not PNG mode -- you might have had PNG mode set when viewing the main page. I believe strip marker issues are all server-side.
To fix it, I can try installing a newer version of the Math extension, or we can use images there for now instead of <math>. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 03:46 15 June 2021
You're right, about it being on the server side. I had made the procedural error of isolating it too much; only testing math tags on the template page itself, which lacks the DPL the Main Page has. And I went back to PNG to test the Main Page. Llwy-ar-lawr's sandbox page fails for me in MathML mode too. I can replace them with images, since there are only two and that would be easier. I replaced the two math tags with PNG equivalents in Template:DidYouKnow. It works for me, at least. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 04:41, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
Images are the best solution, I think, though we don't get wordwrap. Math tags have been problematic in the past so this eliminates at least one future problem area. Thanks! --Nigel Scribbler (talk) 07:47, 15 June 2021 (UTC)
