Looks like a colon ({{NAMESPACE}}:{{PAGENAME}}) throws off the linking. If anyone knows how to link the "check the deletion log" with the page name, so it auto-searches, that would be great. I lack the wiki-mind to do it. Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 01:10, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

Added it, to this and MediaWiki:Newarticletext. However: If someone is editing a page, and they are clicking 'back' and editing it, and saving it, and repeating, they will never see the page having been deleted, while they are ignorantly recreating it over and over. We have to take this into account before banninninating (although a short ban can get their attention). --Splaka 07:38, 5 February 2006 (UTC)

We ought to rewrite this a bit and make it silly. Something along the lines of "If you just created this article, we probably deleted it and hate you for writing such trash. Check the deletion log". --[[User:Nintendorulez|Nintendorulez | talk]] 13:25, 2 April 2006 (UTC)

This finally works right on all pages for the first time since I signed up. I don't know when they broke Special:Search/foo. I've never seen it work. ❦ Llwy-ar-lawr talkcontribs • 17:24 31 January 2019
