Talk:Paul Revere

Hey, there, I'm the original author of the Paul Revere article.

Years ago, I was following the news and saw what you will see if you google this:

sarah palin paul revere wikipedia

Summary: Sarah Palin was touring Boston while considering a 2012 presidential run, and flubbed a question on what Paul Revere's ride's purpose was. Her fans were trying to edit Wikipedia to back her up.

I did some research and decided to write an uncyclopedia article to parody the situation. The only uncyclopedia mentions of Paul Revere that I could find mentioned Paul Revere as having poor genetics.

The article ended up containing references to not only these, but also to Oedipus, Back to the Future, the Coneheads, "I'm my own grandpa", and early college math. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.0.215.147 (talk • contribs)

I remember when we had gravitas in politics! Didn't Palin refer to Revere's "midnight run"? Apart from the fact that Palin's career, post-television, has not exactly taken off and she is now a footnote to American politics, this basis for the article is problematic, as explained in Extremists. On the surface, it seems the author is trying to score some cheap shots against Palin (rather than make the reader laugh; or at most make the reader laugh at Palin), as the networks were too. But it could be that the article is aimed at network bias. Either way, that part of the humor is weak and dated. Spıke 🎙️22:17 25-Oct-15
