   Done. Although I prefer the gradient on the bars. Changed to .75 transparency on the sides, but without the gradient on the bars can afford to go .40 or lighter with no major issue. • Against. No offense but I find the proposed version kind of tacky. I like neither the diagonal bars nor the grey background but maybe that's because I got used to the old template which didn't go through any majorchanges since 2010. Anyway, since this Wiki is supposed to parody Wikipedia, I suppose the templates ought to have a configuration that resembles that of Wikipedia's templates and the proposed version doesn't look a thing like any template I ever saw there. Why do you want to change it anyway? It's not like anyone had a complain about it, is it? --Mimo&Maxus (Talk) 08:10, April 14, 2014 (UTC)

  Long made short: I was looking at "website under construction" stuff, and our template looks outdated comparatively. I don't recall seeing any construction templates at Wikipedia, so started from common design ideas online, and minimising the data load requirement, while keeping the most recognisable imagery.

  {{Construction}} is a temporary template whose purpose is to communicate seriously with the author. It doesn't have to imitate Wikipedia. Our talk pages and style guides don't have to imitate Wikipedia either. Only the product does.

  Separately, to me, the orange construction cone now means not Wikipedia but the VLC media player. Spıke Ѧ 11:21 14-Apr-14
