Being a bit distracted, has any new noob done anything this month. Right now RC Murphy is going to win with no votes at all! Also..a lot of bods appearing to be missing or are they all talking to each other on skype? --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 16:33, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

The noobs are probably being scared away by this issue discussed here: new user accounts have the default skin overridden by the ad-heavy and nigh unnavigable Wikia default skin. Just new users. Yeah, if I got the skin the noobs are getting I would not have given this site a first look, and not even considered staying around. This, imnho, is an extemely serious issue. As for the the old users, Skype and facebook suck the blood out of this site. DrStrange, Dexter, Ehine, Ape, Froggy, the others who frequent those sites lose interest in what the sites are about. Catch 22. And for a long time they tried to bring other users to those sites as well. Me, I've never used any of them, nor IRC, but stick to the real thing. (But this advertising issue, which destroys the clean look and formatting of uncy for users and viewers, might do it for me. I do not want my pages used to sell toothpaste--and the first time I see an ad for an animal product, grrrrrrr, my principals will kick in). If a certain group of old users just want to hang out on chat rooms, I can't exactly hold that against them. I mean, that would be like Under User sneaking into my bedroom while I was playing Mass Effect 2, hitting me over the head with a sock, and yelling "Write an article, asshole!" Blaming Ethine? You probably read between some lines which aren't there. Noobs may or may not be avoiding uncy because when they sign up they see ads and flashing lights that look almost exactly like wackypedia looks now. This is so serious as to make us be serious. I don't know about you guys...

...but until it starts to go on for a while, I'm going to chalk this up to kids going to school (for the most part). I know it's why I'm not on as frequently. Homework, girlfriend, etc. It all prevents me from being really involved with this sort of thing. Except this is probably going to go on indefinitely as people continue reminiscing about how wonderful the good old days were relative to now, regardless of whatever may actually be the case... things do change, after all.
