However, despite their good fortune, the Puritans had a hard time warming up to Provincetown, with its overly-homosexual population, for several reasons:

  • first, the gays were always fixing up their houses with perfectly-manicured flowerbeds – thereby raising everyone else's property values and tax assessments;
  • second, they knew that when summer arrived, the place would be packed with hot, buffed, half-naked men in Speedos having way too much fun together in public – they rightly feared that their young women (e.g., Goody Sarah, Goody Martha, and Goody Prudence) would be simply unable to compete for the attention of their horny young men (like Proctor's boy);
  • third, well, it was mid-December, so it was pretty hard to warm up to anything at that point.

And so, the pilgrims decided to look elsewhere for the final location of their putative settlement, and set sail again. Fukkinruff (talk) 10:57, February 8, 2013 (UTC)

I appreciate you didn't add that to a featured article as it would have been reverted. Perhaps you could work this into another article or create a new one as a subpage. --Laurels.gifRomArtus*Imperator ITRA (Orate) ® 11:57, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
