The Book of Boba Fett is a 2021 American space-western-gangster TV series set in the Star Wars universe for the streaming service Disney+. It was created by Iron Man Jon Favreau, who was also behind The Mandalorian along with Avatar Dave Filoni. The series takes place after the post-credit scene of Chapter 16 of The Mandalorian as well as the first flashback taking place a few hours after the bit on Jabba's Sail Barge in Return of the Jedi. The show follows Boba Fett and his trusty side-kick Fennec Shand, who are trying to become Tatooine's next Lolly Lords.
It is not an actual book, or a novel, or a short story, or a brochure, or any piece of paper with words on it related things, as many had speculated when the series was first announced in late 2020. Much like The Mandalorian, The Bad Batch, and the Marvel series on Disney+, each episode (or chapter to be exact) of The Book of Boba Fett was released weekly on a Wednesday.
Cast and characters[edit]
Boba Fett: Boba Fett is still Boba Fett. Just a bit older... and kiwi. Played by Temuera Morrison, just like his father Jango before him in Attack of the Clones.
Fennec Shand: After first appearing in The Mandalorian as a live-action character, and then going back in time to be an animated character in The Bad Batch, Fennec now returns in live-action form, still played (and voiced) by Ming-Na Wen.
Bin Baron: Pedro Pascal returns! With his helmet still on, though. Chapters 5 and 6 of the show is bascially The Mandalorian Season 2 1/2.
The Vespa Scooter Gang: The Vespa Gang, or the "Mods", are a group of teenagers/young adults that Boba recuited to his forces. Each have a special ability such as having a screw driver for a hand, a glass eye, or being apart of the slowest chase scene in film history.
Black Krrsantan: Krrsantan is a Wookiee (the same species as Chewbacca). He is also black, hence his name. He likes to stare, grawl and rip peoples arms off.
Cad Bane: Cad Bane (from The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch) makes his live-action debut — only for him to be killed off in two episodes.
Luke Skywalker: Luke Skywalker shows up for one episode, only for him to do nothing.
Ahsoka Tano: Two Jedi? In one show? About Boba Fett? Sure. Like Luke, she shows up and makes fanboys (and girls) literally poo themselves by mententioning her former Master, Anakin Skywalker (who becomes Darth Vader and is Luke's dad).
Grogu: Alright this is getting ridiculous, two and a half Jedi? Dave and Jon really do know how to please the fans.

| Boba and Fennec have taken over Bib Fortuna's, formerly Jabba the Hutt's, Candy Castle on Tatooine. As Boba is taking a bath, he has a flashback to when he was soliciting sex from a Sarlacc Pit and how afterwards he was mugged by Jawas and then adopted by a tribe of sand people. In this flashback he also remembers the time he fought a six armed lizard man and decapitated it, without winning a prize. In the present, Boba and Fennec enter a Candy Strip Club where they introduce themselves to the owners, the patrons and the rest of the Candy City citizens. Upon returning to the Candy Castle, the pair are attacked by Red Sugar Assassins. Boba and Fennec kick some ass, aswell as their two Gamorrean bodyguards. | ||||

| Boba and Fennec are told that the Mayor of Candy Land was the one to send the assassins to kill them. However, the Mayor denies the allegations. Boba then comes face-to-face with the Lolly Twins, Jabba the Hutts two younger cousins. The two Hutts tell Boba that they want to rule Jabbas former kingdom and that he would just have to find another throne to overtake. When Boba tells them to go "get diabetes", the twins send out a black Wookie, as if it was like a Pokemon battle. Boba and the Wookie exchange a few glares before the Hutt twins get bored and just leave. In another flashback, Boba steals some speeder bikes and teaches his adoptive family, the Tusken Raiders, to ride them. Boba and the Tuskens then plot a train heist (cause no Western wouldn't be complete without a train heist) owned by the Pykes. The Tuskens and Boba rob the train but are disappointed to find that the train only had lollipops on board. Boba is then given a makeover by the Tusken Beauty Department, before the episode ends like it was the video game Just Dance. | ||||

| A concerned citizen begs Candy Lord Boba Fett to 'deal' with some goth, half human-half droid teens who have been stealing soft drink. Instead, Boba hires the teens for less than minimum wage. Boba has a flashback to the time where his new Tusken Raider family was killed by a gang of bikers. In the present, the Black Wookie, known as Choc-Chip Cookie, attacks Boba while he is sleeping on his water bed. The teens and Fennec then trap Cookie in the Rancor cave. The morning after, the Hutt Twins show up and gift Boba his very own Rancor to replace Choc-Chip who is currently in it. Machete from Spy Kids makes a cameo appearence. A speeder chase in the city breaks out when Boba and Fennec pay the Mayor a visit, who turns out to be working for the Pykes (who are from The Clone Wars and Solo). | ||||

Flashback time. Boba is camping out with his Bantha eating fried frog-rats. He sees a white flare which indictates that this flashback is set during season 1, episode 5 of The Mandalorian. Boba finds an almost dead Fennec Shand, and so, he takes it upon himself to save her life — cause he's just that nice of a bloke. He takes her to a robot repair shop but the guy working the nightshift there says that he can only fix droids, not humans and that Boba should take her to a hospital instead. Instead of pointing his sharp stick at the man, Boba offers a lot of money. Fennec is saved and offers to help Boba with his mission; to reclaim his ship, the Slave I. Boba and Fennec sneak into Jabba's Palace like ninjas and steal, I mean it's not really stealing if it's his own ship, so more like take back his ship. They succeed and then go on a killing spree on the biker gang that killed Boba's Tusken Raider tribe/family. Boba then goes bungee jumping into the Sarlacc Pit after blowing it up with one of those silenced nukes that Jango used against Obi-Wan Kenobi in Attack of the Clones to retreive his signature green armour — which he doesn't know was stolen by Jawas. Back in the present, Boba watches Krrsantan rip a guys arm off in the Candy Strip Club and so he asks the Cookie Wookie Dookie Warrior to join him at a crime get together dinner party. | ||||

The Mandalorian Season 2.5, Episode 1, is here. Bin Barin beats up a group of butcher hogs, decapitating one with the Darksaber (without putting an apple in its mouth). He then melts his beskar spear to make something off-screen for Grogu, who is still off with Luke Skywalker doing Jedi things. Paz Vizsla (Jon Faverau) demands a duel with Mando, for honour or something. Mando wins, of course, and is then kicked out of the Mandalorian cult, catches a bus to Tatooine, and repairs an old Naboo N-1 Starfighter, from The Phantom Menace. The rest of the episode is filled with more fan-service and easter eggs. Peli is also revealed to have a Jawa for an ex-boyfriend — a hurtful trigger moment for all women who date midgets. Mando goes zoom zoom in his new fast ship and gets pulled over by the cops. They let him go with a warning. Fennec then shows up and asks Mando to join Boba. | ||||

Spoiler Warning: The title of the episode is a misdirect that only Dave fuckin' Filoni can pull off. Corn Vanth returns! He shoots a few Pykes, and then dumps a shit ton of cocaine into the sand that he could of sold for a few million dollars on the streets. Mando meets R2-D2, and while waiting, builder droids led by Bob the Builder build him a bench — comedy gold! Ahsoka Tano shows up instead who takes the gift that Mando made. Luke Skywalker and Grogu (Baby Yoda) are trainin', jumpin', runnin', rapin', killin', shootin' and fuckin'. Mando returns to Tatootine to help Fennec and Boba. They need an army now, cause they only JUST realised that about ten people is not enough to defeat an entire syndicate. So, Mando flies off to Free Town to recuit Vanth and the townspeople who he killed a Dragon with in The Mandalorian season 2. So, here comes the misdirect that Filoni added that made all the The Clone Wars fanboys squeal. For the entire episode, the audience is made to think that the "Stranger" is Vanth, but no! It. Is. Bloodly. Fucking. Cad Bane. So, after he walks up and slow and badass like, Cad Bane shoots Vanth and his deputy sheriff, the Pykes commit a terrorist attack, and Luke gives Grogu a choice; Beskar armour or the lightsaber that used to belong to Yoda. Cut to black and make the audience wait one more week for the season finale — Thanks Dave! | ||||

The season finale! Boba, Fennec and Mando are held up in the ruins of the Sanctuary while the Mods and Krrsantan patrol the streets in case of an attack by the Pykes. Cad Bane and Boba have a standoff which, once again, all The Clone Wars fanboys nutted over. The Pykes attack and Fennec ditches them so she can go for a nice ride to Mos Eisley. Boba and Mando have an epic last stand against hordes of Pykes. They fly around like Iron Man, shooting lasers from their guns, jetpacks, wrists, legs, and every other body part. Meanwhile, Grogu and R2-D2 steal Luke's X-Wing so they can go to Tatooine and join in on the battle. Just as Mando and Boba are about to fall with honour, the people of Free Town show up. Two spider droids with shields show up also and blow everything to hell. Boba flies off to his palace, and returns to Mos Espa riding his rancor he was gifted earlier in the season, making everything come full circle. Mando uses the Darksaber to cut through one of the droids. Cad Bane shows up again and scares the rancor away with his candy-thrower. Cad is about to kill Fett, referencing their encounters throughout The Clone Wars, which made those fanboys (and girls) have a full on seizure. Just as Cad is about to put the killing blow into Boba, he spins around like a ninja, and shoves his toffee stick right through Cad's chest... killing him? Maybe, or so the German's would have us believe. Grogu shows up as the rancor is rampaging through the city — just in the nick of time. Mando is about to become lunch, until Grogu uses the Force and puts the rancor to sleep — a power last seen used in Star Wars Rebels (chronologically), but Rey also used it in Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, which no-one cared about since it's not canon. Fennec puts her master assassin powers to use for the second time this season, and assassinates the Pyke leadership on her trip to Mos Eisley. The people cheer! Tatooine wins! No more spice! Yay! — except all the people who wanted Cad Bane to live (which he might. Who knows? This is Disney after all). In the post-credit scene, Corn Vanth can be seen healing in a bath tub. Possibly teasing The Book of Boba Fett season 2, or another Star Wars spin-off show. | ||||
Reception[edit]
The reception has been mostly positive, although many still believe that it shouldn't have taken this long for a standalone Boba Fett film or series.
At the end of Chapter 4, it was hinted that the man, the myth, the legend, The Mandalorian, would return. So for a week, fans speculated if Bin Barin would return or not. So, when Chapter 5 was released, and the entire episode followed Mando, people were happy. Then Chapter 6 dropped, and once again, it followed everyone EXCEPT Boba. Fans are now hoping that Boba Fett will make a cameo appearence in his own show for the series finale.
Mark Hamill has also teased in an interview that the finale episode, Chapter 7 may elude to his 1981 suggestion to Lucas by revealing that Boba Fett is in fact Luke's mother.
Fans of the animated series, mainly The Clone Wars and The Bad Batch had orgasms when Cad Bane, a bounty hunter from those shows, made his live-action debut at the end of Chapter 6. Those same fans later murdered Dave Filoni in his sleep after the release of Chapter 7 as Cad Bane was killed off.
