Imagine the howls if George W. Bush tried this.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- After promising not to withhold information over "speculative or abstract fears," the Obama administration has declined to disclose the text of the Obama-care law because doing so could "potentially" allow hackers to break in.

The text of the signature law, formally the "Patient Protection [sic] and Affordable Care [sic] Act," has been a national mystery ever since then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi told the United States that "we have to pass this so that you can find out what is in it." Unfortunately, Mr. Obama has issued waivers, exemptions, and postponements faster than the American people can discover the details. The mandate that employers of 50 or more people provide free health care has been deferred for small businesses, and eliminated entirely for several of Ms. Pelosi's favorite San Francisco restaurants.

It is unrelated factors, such as the unexpected arrival of snowfall last winter due to the just-discovered polar vortex, that has made American business race to create jobs — in any country other than the United States.

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services denied a request by the Associated Press under the Freedom of Information Act for the actual text of the law. Medicare told the AP that disclosing it might give hackers such as the Tea Party movement enough information to break into the government. In 2009, Mr. Obama told agencies to not keep information confidential "merely because public officials might be embarrassed by disclosure." But this is a whole 'nother thing, folks. A buncha things.

The AP reports that the government is "grappling" with a 2011 Supreme Court decision that narrowed an exception under the open records law. This grappling is the undercard before Mr. Obama "wrestles" with a 2014 court decision that Obama-care, which included subsidies to coax states to set up Insurance Exchanges, which most didn't, cannot simply pay out anyway. But Mr. Obama will have the nation in a Figure-Four Leg-Lock if opposition Republicans continue crying out, "No más."
