Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva[edit]

Score: 4 • voting closed
Delete (4)
  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. A stub about the Brazilian former president and current presidential candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, whose reputation has been besmirched by corruption scandals. The writing doesn't introduce the reader to the subject, and makes obscure jokes (what's with the f with a hook? The Squidward joke is a play on the Portuguese lula, meaning "squid"). It's probably over the heads of most English readers, and can't hold a candle to what Portuguese readers can read on Desciclopedia. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 22:12, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Author Portugués Europeo doesn't seem to like Lula and, in 2015 took it exactly nowhere. Is the typography meant to be archaic, like Congreʃs? Spıke 🎙️22:41 11-Mar-22

  • Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. There could be so much more here, but no it just spouts nonsense about the number 7, no jokes, no laughs, nothing funny or absurd, just stupid!! who ignored this 129 times!? --Good job (talk) 11:54, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
  • Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Five sentences of stubby musings about nothing. We ought to have an article on this, and I'd flip my vote if someone fleshes this out. Spıke 🎙️14:09 12-Apr-22

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete.not at all funny, it's just a reversed article with bad jokes and an even worse idea for a creature, i see the main "joke" here but it goes on too long and makes the rest of the article not worth reading.--Good job (talk) 17:49, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. As above. Sog1970 (talk) 20:01, 11 April 2022 (UTC)
  3. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Got it, "eurg" is "grue" spelled backwards, and (spoiler alert) so is the rest of the article. So if you wanted to see whether someone had written an article about grues, only everything was spelled backwards, you'd type "eurg", wouldn't you? A prank, not funny writing.Spıke 🎙️20:11 11-Apr-22

  1. Symbol keep vote.svg Keep. I thought it was simply the Grue page read backwards, until I used the Linux command rev to reverse it line-by-line, and made a legible version in the Sandbox. I do find it amusing. (At times I also qualify as "easily entertained".) By the way, typing it in isn't how readers will get to it: Zork pages already link to it. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 03:40, 12 April 2022 (UTC)
Okay, I bit, finally, and the result is all navel-gazing and ranting-at-the-reader. You are easily entertained. Spıke 🎙️14:25 18-Apr-22
The article does have those faults. My vote is quite subjective. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 08:51, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

Barcode[edit]

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. I don't get the point to three QR codes as an article. The barcodes do say something, but only You-an-item could be considered a real joke. Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 08:27, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Not a horrible idea if the page was called QR code and the links were worth visiting. BUt pointless as it stands. Sog1970 (talk) 08:35, 15 April 2022 (UTC)
  3. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. We ought to promote funny, accessible writing — not clever encryption. It doesn't matter to me what the article says when decrypted. Spıke 🎙️11:46 15-Apr-22

    • Sad:
Only lonely sad lonely tossers who live with their parents, have no friends and who have never experienced sex with a lady are capable of understand barcodes.
    • Starfish:
Also, homosexuals are known to have a natural affinity for barcodes. Many homosexuals (or "Chocolate Starfish Troopers" as they are more commonly known) use smartphones, such as the iPhone (or Android equivalent) to read barcodes.
    • You-an-item:
I was in a supermarket the other day and I saw a man and a woman wrapped up in a barcode...I said, "Are you two an item?"

George Kelly[edit]

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. Our standards are higher than they were in 2005. This article about Machine Gun Kelly (the gangster, because the contemporary musician didn't exist yet) focuses on homosexuality and Allahball. A couple of the jokes are all right, but there's little overall coherency or relevance to the namesake. Shall we axe it? Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 22:33, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
  2. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. The tone of this strikes me as, "Create a character and write random stuff about him." As though for a sixth-grade assignment, with the themes that interest sixth graders. Thanks to DWWH for the research. Spıke 🎙️22:45 20-Apr-22

Simsilikesimsian Commieist Party[edit]

  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. The article was created by our notorious, chronic, scatology-based vandal presumably after reprisal by Admin Simsilikesims. Simsie, for unknown reasons probably related to being a Commie, did not just ban the jerk in the most unreinforcing way but saw fit to try to flesh it out into a real article. What we have now is an ill-advised attempt to school a jerk who won't learn, and not amusing to anyone else:

Robert Hughes[edit]

Score: -1 • voting closed
Delete (1)
  1. Symbol delete vote.svg Delete. The premise of the obscene article is to parody the real-life sexual misconduct on the set of Hey Dad..! (1987–1994) by Australian actor Robert Hughes toward the child actress playing his character's daughter. Thankfully, the lead section doesn't go into detail for those who would rather click away. All of the jokes center on pedophilia, rape, and anal rape; with an occasional suicide joke, BDSM joke, or infant rape joke. After reading the entire thing, the word that sums it up neatly for me is "cringe". Dark Web, White Hat (talk) 03:52, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

  1. Symbol keep vote.svg Keep. "This article may be Overly Australian. Pommies may not understand funny stuff, only humour. Canucks and Yanks may not understand anything at all. Don't change a thing and she'll be right, mate!" — sums it up pretty well. OnePunch Talk to me 04:03, 25-Apr-22
  2. Symbol keep vote.svg Keep. A crude subject, treated crudely; after all, Maniac1075. But it does have a comedy strategy: exaggeration. The "trial transcripts" are tedious and the finale of anal rape in prison is author self-pleasuring; this only needs a hint, not mayonnaise. Fixed. What could it be if it gave the fictional version while cleverly avoiding stating what was happening? (I disagree with OnePunch's suggestion that every article about Australia must be preserved because we just don't understand.) Spıke 🎙️10:08,15:22 25-Apr-22
I didn't mean it like that, I meant that as an Aussie, the humour and subject matter is more funny to me. I don't think every Australian article here is top tier stuff, let alone this one but it doesn't deserve to be huffed. OnePunch Talk to me 10:20, 25-Apr-22
