Donald Trump has inspired a whole new generation of American conservatives.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – White House staffers reportedly attempted to short circuit President Donald Trump's Sunday morning Twitter tantrum by taking him out for ice cream.

In a tweet storm on Sunday, Trump cried that former FBI officials James Comey and Andrew McCabe were not his dad and he didn't have to listen to them. And he suggested that he was scared over so-called "stupid memos" that McCabe wrote about interactions with the president. Trump also complained that special counsel Robert Mueller was allegedly refusing to buy him a stuffed dinosaur toy.

Two Scoops to be scraped up.

The president said the impetus for at least one of the tweets came from his favorite morning show Barney & Friends.

After Trump fired off three tweets in quick succession, his aides decided to take action, according to New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman.

"Aides have decided to take Trump out for an ice cream cone," she wrote, later adding: "Feels a bit cold for ice cream. But maybe he'll stop crying."
